Day 1 of Sail Carribean

Hi, I am back from my Sea camp, and here to tell you everything that happened.

It was extremely dark when we arrived at the dock after the highspeed ferry ride in which salt water splashed all over my face, in my eyes, and clothes. I did enjoy the ride though. When we arrived, people got out flashlights and starting looking for their bags and some were looking into the water with their flashlights to see fish. I saw an Upside-down jellyfish. When everyone was done receiving their bags and knowing what boat they were on, they boarded their catamarans.

I was assigned to a 45-foot Lagoon catamaran. It was the largest model of catamaran we had in our fleet. The boat was spotless white with a turquoise bottom. The buoy had 2 nets that we called trampolines that we could not jump on, people would usually sleep on them. Some people would sleep inside. There were 3 girls, 6 boys, including me, and 3 counselors. Each person was assigned to a cabin: the 6 boys got split up into groups of 3 and since the counselors and the girls were already in groups of three, we settled into our cabins just fine. Once everyone got to know each other, it was time to sleep.

Most people brought sleeping bags; I did too. Those people could sleep outside, and the people who didn’t choose to sleep outside slept inside in the cabin. We would see a milky way right above us every night. You could spot more than 3 shooting stars in less than ten minutes. Sometimes we would take out our flash lights and leave them lying on the nets aiming at the water to attract and watch fish swim. Needle fish and Tarpon were the most common. Also Grunts were common but swam in schools of hundreds.
