The extraordinary day my family and I had at Busch Gardens yesterday was amazing and was really nice of my parents, but they also came up with going parasailing 100 feet up over Virginia Beach.
I was the first to wake up in the morning because of the news and schedule my parents told me the night before. At 10 am everyone packed everything up and was out of the hotel for a 2-hour drive to Virginia Beach. 20 minutes until the drive ended and we could already see water. I was really excited to go here because I brought my fishing gear with me for when we stopped by a dock. When we arrived to the parasailing office, they first made us sign the waivers because we booked a reservation. After we signed the waivers, they told us to wait at the benches at the dock. Meanwhile I looked into the water and saw tiny fish and 2 small crabs crawling on the side of the dock. After about 10-15 minutes they called our name with 4 other people to get on one boat. First we got on the harnesses and the life jackets. Next, we moved out to more open water. After we were about 200 feet out. They told me to come up to get clicked onto the sail first while the boat was still moving. I almost slipped as they were clicking the harness on, but I grasped the bar that was attached to the parasail. Then I sat down. My dad and brother sat down and got clicked on too. The boat started speeding up, and as the boat started speeding up we slowly started elevating and our feet were the last thing that skimmed the ground. We slowly started going up until everyone on the boat became the size of an ant. There were markers on the rope that meant each 50 feet. While we were up there we saw the whole city in front of us. There were surfers surfing with dolphins down below too. It was extremely windy while we went up there. It felt very calming by looking at the clouds from that elevation and the waves down below. The waves’ caps were filling with white foam and disappearing. The water was deep and dark. It was not that scary because I thought when they were going to pull us down it would have been like a roller coaster drop. But it was not they slowly brought us back to the boat. The ride was very thrilling yet calming.
